I stumbled upon this post on Ragamuffin Soul. For twenty bucks, if you sport a goatee (as all youth pastors do apparently... except for those who have a soul patch), this handy gadget might the be the answer to your prayers. Check it out.
So is it a goatee or a van Dyke? A friend recently taught me that a goatee is when you have only the beard point part (like a goat), but when you also have the mustache, it is a Van Dyck (or Van Dyck) named for 17th Century Flemish painter, Anthony Van Dyck who sported such.
However, after looking it up, I have seen both terms used interchangebly (is that a word?). Oh well, I like Van Dyke because it sounds more hip and like you know something you really don't. I may have to grow mine back now.

The Van Dyke does sound a bit hipper. I wonder if Van knew the sort of influence he'd have upon human civilization.
